Getting married in Piedmont
The ceremony in the garden, the celebration in the house
Dimora Berchiatti is an eighteenth-century house in San Giorgio Canavese, 30 minutes from Turin. You have your civil ceremony here and celebrate without going anywhere else, and on that day the house is yours alone, because we host only one event a day.

The ceremony
Get married here, under the cherry tree
The house is approved for civil weddings: the civil ceremony, which is legally binding, takes place on the lawn behind the courtyard, under the cherry tree, and nobody has to travel between the town hall and the celebration. If it rains, the ceremony is held in the old hall, under the coffered ceiling.

The day
Every room opens off the courtyard
Your guests arrive in the courtyard, and drinks are served among the flower beds in the garden. Dinner is served in the courtyard or, under cover, in the loggia and the upper hall, which together hold up to 120 adults, so even if it rains everyone is comfortable. After dinner there is dancing in the upper hall, and the celebration usually goes on until one in the morning.

- Loggia

Who does what
We hire out the house, and the celebration is yours to organise
You choose the caterer, and we have no financial interest in your choice: whoever it is will find 2 covered kitchens and a power hook-up for refrigerated trucks. The flowers, the music and the photographer are yours to choose, and a wedding planner is welcome.
What we provide
- The spaces you have chosen, for every hour of the celebration
- 13 tables and 60 chairs, lighting, sound, a projector, candles
- 2 kitchens and the fridges for your caterer
- Cleaning before and after the celebration, with electricity and water included
- One of us stays at the house during the event, on hand if needed
What you arrange
- You choose the caterer and decide the menu with them
- Flowers, cake, music and photographer: all just as you want them
- You organise the day, the way you imagine it
- If you would like a wedding planner, they are welcome
If more than 60 of you are sitting down to eat, the extra tables and chairs are usually brought by the caterer, or we hire them and add them to the bill.
What it costs
What it costs to hire the house
For a wedding the house costs €1,600–2,600, depending on the spaces you choose, the number of guests and the hours. 10 hours are included, usually from the afternoon until one in the morning, and the date does not change the price: August costs the same as November.
From December to February the celebration moves into the old hall, in front of the fire: for a wedding of up to 40 guests the house costs €900–1,200, with 8 hours included.
You pay the caterer, the florist and the musicians you choose directly: our price is for the house. We work out the exact figure together, once you tell us how many guests you’re expecting and which spaces you need.
Staying at the house
One flight of stairs from the table to the bedroom
On the first floor of the house there is an apartment of 200 m², with 3 bedrooms that sleep 6. The apartment is in the same house where you hold your celebration. On the day of an event it is yours, from the moment you start getting ready until the morning after.
Get ready here
The four-poster bedroom looks onto the garden and has a door you can close. You come downstairs when it’s time, without having to walk through the village in your wedding clothes.
Guests from far away stay the night
The 3 bedrooms sleep 6: your parents, the best man and bridesmaids, friends who have come a long way. After the celebration they go upstairs to bed instead of getting back in the car.
Booked with the event
If you’re celebrating here, we handle the apartment nights ourselves, on the same quote as the day, so you only book once.
Getting here
30 minutes from Turin
San Giorgio Canavese has its own junction on the A5 motorway, between Turin and the Aosta Valley. From Turin airport the drive takes 30 minutes, from Milan Malpensa an hour and 17 minutes.
There is private parking inside the property for 15 to 20 cars. For larger celebrations there is a large public car park in Piazza del Mercato, 300 metres away.
For guests who stay on for a few days there is our guide to the area, with the Savoy castles, the lakes and the Erbaluce wineries.
